Improvvisation, writing and the spirit of research come together to create a visionary and eclectic ensemble: this is the assumption around which the Panorchestra revolves, a group led by saxophonist Tino Tracanna. The idea is to freely engage with modes, sounds and forms belonging to different musical worlds, while remaining deeply rooted in the practice and tradition of jazz. Thanks to the collaboration with the Fondazione Teatro Donizetti, Bergamo Jazz and the Teatro Grande of Brescia, as part of “Bergamo Brescia Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2023”, Panorchestra has hosted Jonathan Finlayson, Alfonso Santimone and Steven Bernstein in its ranks. At Bergamo Jazz 2026 the group will be presented in its most essential eight-piece form, representing its most intimate essence and authentic musical expression.
In the monthly magazine Musica Jazz's Top Jazz 2025, Panorchestra won first place in the section dedicated to the “best Italian jazz record of the year”.
