The Escape Quartet was born out of a desire to escape from the classical structures of jazz and explore new forms of expression. The name itself encapsulates the essence of the project: a conscious escape from traditional canons into unexplored sound territories, where form becomes fluid and language is constantly renewed. The quartet, led by saxophonist Giacomo Cazzaro, offers a repertoire of original pieces penned by the members of the formation. The compositions, while each maintaining their own distinctive identity, are united by a contemporary language that draws on the modal approach and non-functional harmony, creating soundscapes that challenge the listener's expectations and invite him or her to active and participatory listening.
